just thought i'd remind myself for later how absolutely in love with my kids i am.
had dinner tonight with kaya, then watched her talk on the phone with pop pop, and i realized i was watching a little girl...talking about her day, laughing at jokes, making faces...it must be horribly annoying to her to see her daddy be so proud at everything she does. the process of growing up is fascinating and inspiring to me.
meanwhile, my son is leaving babyhood in the dust, and i'm reminded once again how quickly they learn preferences. it's fascinating to see how different these kids can be, and yet they're both such good kids.
i sneak into kaya's room every night just to watch her sleep. (we get to watch z on the video monitor all night). and we end every night with the words, "dream happy".
ok, enough cheese. back to work.Comments:Add a comment:

2 kids means triple the chaos.
even with the copious amounts of help we have (grandmas, family, nannies), i still find it rare that i have time to breathe. and on those few moments when i can breathe, i find myself so exhausted that i just want to surf the web, read Us Weekly (yes, i confess), or just watch TV. ugh.
still, it's the moments in the middle that make it all feel so good. kaya's a really, really great big sister...she's currently hard at work on her 'art project', which we'll all see at the art show at school soon. little zade has nailed walking, and is at the very edge of starting to say real words - "ta ta" is thank you in tagalog (i think??), and he is now regularly handing things to me and saying "ta ta", or "thank you very much for me giving this to you".
he loves, and i mean loves, being outside, walking around or just strolling.
she loves painting - we spent a whole afternoon finger-painting little einstein characters last weekend.
it's all good.Comments:Add a comment:
