about 10 minutes ago, my wife and i were watching "Brothers & Sisters", a show that i really don't care much for, but it provides me with an excuse to sit next to my wife, and, well, do nothing.
that's when i heard it. a "thud".
i thought one of the following:
1) our nanny was trapped under something heavy
2) an asteroid had hit our house
3) a steak had jumped out of our fridge and hit the ground.
it didn't occur to me that it might be anything else.
i thought i'd take a walk around the house...and then i thought i'd start with my son's room. my son is also, coincidentally, the recipient of an awesome new bunk bed. he sleeps on the bottom bunk, and kaya sometimes sleeps on the top. it's kinda cool - the bottom bunk is a queen size bed, while the top is smaller...so both kids get a treat.
anyway, i digress...so you'll remember i had heard a "thump".
i opened the door, turned the light in the bathroom on so i could see a bit, and then i saw my son, asleep in a fetal position....on the ground. he had rolled right out of bed, thudded to the floor, and kept right on sleeping.
i started laughing. then i realized "oh shit, he could really be hurt", so i made sure he was breathing. and then i started laughing again. then i went in our room and told cho, whom i expected to freak out and go check on her precious son.
she started laughing, too.
fyi, grandma, he's fine and now back in bed, far away from the edge.Comments:Add a comment:
